Choosing Your Bum Marketing Niche:

Let’s take it one baby step at a time.

In this chapter, you will learn how to choose a profitable niche. There will be a lot to choose from and this may be a little confusing at the onset but certain criteria will be followed. It is actually just a numbers game. Like in any other business, we look at the figures first.

If the numbers look right, it’s a go. If not, we move on to another niche.

First, you need to download a free keyword research tool called Good Keywords. If you dislike to download any software, you can also go use NichebotClassic. Basically, we need to find out how many searches a keyword gets in a month and compare that to the competition.

As an example, let’s take the key phrase “how to relieve sinus headache”. It gets around 41 searches in a month. Not much, but then look at the competition. Type the same keyword phrase in quotes in Google and you see only 8 competing sites! It simply means that the lesser the competition, the better. Now we have the keyword.

You can always find variations to your phrase. There’s also “how to relieve sinusitis”, “get rid of sinus headache” and such related terms. There’s always a great chance that you find several good keywords in a certain niche so take note of all of those.

Although we get many eureka moments when we find such keywords, it is always advisable to start out researching 3-5 niches in the beginning. This way, we can compare which niche is the most profitable and concentrate all your bum marketing efforts on that.

Another thing we need to do is to check the Adwords ads that Google displays on the right hand side of the web page when we do a search for our keyword. It is an indication that money is being generated in the niche where you just did a search on.

So now you have your niches and your keywords. The next logical step is to find products in that particular niche.

You will want to find affiliate products you can promote for your niche. For this purpose, you can go to Clickbank, where you can begin marketing affiliate products. But first you need to find a good product to earn money from. You have options in choosing the best product to promote. You can go for new products, those with low popularity, or the ones with the most commission. Clickbank is not the only place where you can find affiliate programs. Other places you can go to are Commission Junction, PayDotCom, LinkShare and Shareasale. Many vendors also run their own affiliate programs. You can search for your niche topic in Google and then take a look at some of the merchants’ websites you find to see if they provide an affiliate program where you can sign up and earn commissions from.

There are also several other affiliate program directories where you could start looking for new products to promote. The two best known are AssociatePrograms.com AffiliateMatch.com. These are both very essential resources where you can get ideas on which affiliate programs would appeal to you.

Now, you have your niche, your keywords and affiliate program options.
