Creating an Effective Landing Page

There is no need for one to have brilliant programming skills to be able to create a simple landing page for Bum Marketing.

The easiest way to do this would be to set up a blog at Blogger.com. It’s free and again, idiot-proof. Just follow the instructions on the site and you can have a blog up and running in a few minutes.

The advantage of using Blogger over other blogging platforms is that Blogger allows you to place ads and affiliate links on your blogs.

Of course, more advanced bum marketers use their own domain and hosting for their websites or landing pages. This will have its own advantages but no need to expound on that here. When you are just starting out, there is really no need for this. More than one bum has reported that even a simple blog serves its purpose and that they have earned thousands of affiliate commissions without paying for a domain name and hosting.

Your landing page should be more of a content page where the visitor can either read useful content where you insert your affiliate links. The purpose here is to pre-sell to the buyer so that when he or she clicks on your link and lands on the merchant’s page, he is already conditioned to buy the product. No need for a long dramatic dissertation here. A few words about the product or the niche in general is sufficient. Avoid hard selling. If you would like to put up a review of the product, it is always best to come out like you’re doing an unbiased review.

Some bum marketers use an opt-in form for their landing page. This is also a very effective technique as you can build a list and could sell to that list again and again in the future.
